A message to the supervisor:
The new enforcement standards of the JACHO have created the need for ASPT to make public that which we have here to fore kept private. In response to that need we have created a special page for supervisors to use. The following system, at present, is only capable of returning queries on the Phlebotomy Certifications. We are working on the other certifications and should have that sometime after this renewal season. However, no supervisor has yet inquired as to the point of verification on any other certifications.
To all supervisors who use this page, the following link will take you to a log on sheet which will allow you to access a data base table which will give you the ability to determine if your people have certifications which are valid or not. In order to use this page you will need the twelve digit membership number of your employee or employees. There is no limit to the number of records you can enter.
The data you will be receiving comes directly from the same data our staff has access to. There are three possible responses you may have returned for each record.
1. "Invalid number not found," for the most part this is self explanatory, but it could mean several things. The main important thing to remember is that if the number is not there it is not valid now and may never have been. Without a valid number we can say no more than the number is not valid.
2. "Expired," is reported on all numbers which were once valid, but no longer due to many issues. Any number reported "Expired" can be re-instated and to do that the member must contact ASPT and request a "Re-instate" letter. This contact should include the members membership number and complete mailing address. Expired does mean that the certification is not valid and the member needs to take steps to correct that condition.
3. "Valid," responses will be reported as valid from the time you ask until the next renewal date. Numbers are deemed valid as long as the proper ceus have been obtained at the proper time and that the proper fees have been paid at the proper time. There is a proper prescribed method all members must use to validate their certifications.
Numbers which are found to be in the database will be reported with the first and last name of the person to whom the number was issued. Any other use of that number by any other person is not valid.
It is important to point out that this list is dynamic, and is updated continuously as renewals are entered. A query into the data base in the morning may yield a different response at the end of the day. We enter renewals throughout the day during the renewal season and that makes the list different every time we add a renewal. It should also be noted that weekends we may be using to upgrade the programming so queries during the week would be most recommended.
